Spend a great day with your classmates
Activities specially designed to entertain and teach with history
Benissanó Castle offers a wide programme of educational and leisure activities to take advantage of this unbeatable cultural enclave. These activities contain history, traditions and a lot of fun.
The proposals that we present are varied in terms of duration, contents, work dynamics and resources used, but all of them have as a common framework a unique space: The castle and its surroundings.
The main objective is to transmit values of respect towards the cultural heritage.
We have prepared a series of activities that will allow you to organise a morning or a day à la carte.
The basic and essential activity is the visit to the castle and to it, if you want, you will be able to add complementary activities according to the time and budget you have.
Through a guided tour, participants will learn about the historical highlights of the castle-fortress and what everyday life was like in the castle, and discover its historical and artistic value. The visits are adapted to each age group and are complemented by a short activity or dynamic.
Guided activity in the streets of Benissanó
Through a series of slogans and questions, participants will be able to discover the ancient remains of Benissanó’s wall, its towers and its gates.
Using different educational resources and taking as an example the elements available in the castle, we will focus on the knights, their functions and armour.
At the end of the workshop, participants will make a souvenir of the castle.
We will focus on the noble families and their heraldry. We will talk about how the coats of arms were composed and their importance at the time. Then we will move on to making our own family coat of arms.
Through a series of tests and team games, we will simulate an authentic medieval tournament.
The participants will have to pass all the tests in order to achieve victory and take over the castle. In the tournament we will play with the most important families that inhabited the castle.
