21 May Plans to boost tourism and local commerce
The Tourism and Commerce Department of Benissanó Town Hall presented yesterday at the Town Hall Information Committee the main lines and strategy to follow in order to lead an ambitious project to boost such important sectors in the economy of the town as, for example, tourism and local commerce. These two new plans are divided into *different phases. In the first of these, the working strategies will be published, and over the next few days, together with the Sectoral Council for Tourism and the Local Trade Association, working groups will be set up to define the actions.
In the Tourism Dynamisation Plan, the Town Hall has set itself the objective of promoting and making known the cultural heritage of Benissanó. A heritage that revolves around its 15th century castle (one of the best preserved in the Valencian Community). In this sense, the plan aims to increase the tourist and cultural offer, and seeks the participation of the whole local business network. This ambitious plan also aims to increase investment in the conservation and maintenance of this heritage, increasing the complementary offer and increasing the profitability of the heritage by taking advantage of the benefits derived from these actions.
In the second plan, the plan to boost local trade, aims to promote and encourage local trade and industry, encouraging and reactivating demand for these businesses.
«The main objective that we seek with the implementation of these two plans of revitalization, is to promote tourism activity along with the commercial activity of our municipality,» explained the alderman of the area, Rafa Navarro. In this sense, the councilman also stressed that «it is now, in circumstances as difficult as the present, when public administrations and the private sector are obliged to join forces in order to help the different sectors that make up the business and commercial fabric of the municipality. Finally, Navarro indicated that «all decisions taken will be made with the consensus of the sector and together with the Sectoral Council for Tourism and the Local Trade Association».
